cake boss

WHAT TO ORDER:

cannoli & lobster tails
Lobster Tail - top
The absolute best! The bavarian cream oozes out with every bite - delish!

Cannoli - bottom
Not my favorite cannoli. They are kinda overrated. I liked the filling, but wasn't a huge fan of the shell.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Atmosphere: It was really cool to actually see the bakery from the show.
Service: Great.
Food: Wonderful!

Delish!

IMG_0866
Crunchy Hazelnut Praline Cookie ($1)

IMG_0865
Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroon ($.60)

IMG_0864
Granola Cookie ($.60)
This is what trail mix would taste like in cookie form - it was salty and slightly sweet and it had lots of different types of nuts and seeds. Different, yet good.

oatmeal cookie
Oatmeal Cookie ($.60)

annie cookie
Annie Cookie ($.60)
Tasted just like almond wedding cookies!!

(not pictured)
Iced Pear Cider ($4.50)
Quite possibly the best item Three Tarts has to offer. Their pear cider is AMAZING! AND they serve it iced so you can enjoy it year-round. Perfect.

WHAT TO AVOID:
(not pictured)
Strawberry Basil Marshmallow ($1)
A little too weird for me.

(not pictured)
Pistachio Ice Cream Sandwich ($3.50)
I'm not a fan of pistachio so I therefore wasn't a huge fan of it in ice cream sandwich form, even if it was surrounded by chocolate.

Atmosphere: Quaint & super cute!
Service: Very friendly.
Food: Yummy!

WHAT TO ORDER:

IMG_0899
Wicked Hot Chocolate ($3.25)
Hot chocolate with cancho & chipotle peppers say what?!? This drink definitely had a kick to it, but it wasn't really that bad. I only had a few sips though.

IMG_0891
Orange Frozen Hot Chocolate ($4)
I liked the flavor of this frozen hot chocolate but I hated sipping up pieces of orange peel - ew.

giant chocolate chip cookie
Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie ($2.50)
SO GOOD! Big chunks of really rich and delicious chocolate in every bite...need I say more?

IMG_0894
Menage A Trois Dark Chocolate ($1.50)
"Jacques' twist on 3 flavors. Don't ask." - it tasted just like regular dark chocolate to me.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Atmosphere: It was really big and you could even see into the chocolate factory where everything is made.
Service: Friendly & helpful.
Food: Chocolatey!

WHAT TO ORDER:

IMG_0884 IMG_0886
Cheeseburger & Fries
This cheeseburger is one of the best in NYC and the line (if there is one) goes by really fast! The fries are also delicious as long as you consume them right away, otherwise they get kinda cold.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Atmosphere: Cramped.
Service: Fast & efficient.
Food: VERY good!

WILLIAM GREENBERG DESSERTS

WHAT TO ORDER:

IMG_0877
Black & White Cookie
A New York staple - it tasted more like the top of a cake than a cookie. It was light and fluffy with a perfect combo of chocolate & vanilla frosting on top AND the vanilla cookie had a hint of lemon. Delicious.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Atmosphere: Small, and possibly under renovation?
Service: Friendly.
Food: Yummy!

GRIMALDI'S

WHAT TO ORDER:

Pizza Margherita
Grimald's pizza was good, but I am really glad we decided to try it in Hoboken instead of Brooklyn because I do not think I would have enjoyed it as much if I had to wait a long time. It wasn't the best pizza, in fact, the sauce did not taste very fresh at all and some of the crust was a little burnt. Maybe I should try the one in Brooklyn just for a second chance - they do say that NY water is what makes the pizza so good.

WHAT TO AVOID:

Atmosphere: Pretty empty, especially for a Friday night.
Service: Average.
Food: Good.
